Growing Well Together: Natural Dye Workshop - Using Plants in Creative Ways

Discover the art and science of natural dyes in this creative, hands‑on workshop, offered in collaboration with AARP Nevada.

Participants will explore the basics of natural dyeing and watercolor creation while learning about common native and invasive plants in our region.

We’ll discuss creative ways to source dye materials and then head into the fields of Reno Food Systems to gather plant materials for use as botanical pigments.

Each participant will dye a bandana (provided by Reno Food Systems) and take home both their finished piece and their watercolor artwork. Please bring: a jar with a lid to transport your bandana home. Gloves are optional.
