HIGH DESERT HOPS PROJECT
Note: Project closed in 2018

The High Desert Hops Project (HDHP) is an experimental 1-acre hops farm in partnership with the University of Nevada, Reno. The demonstration plot is located at the University's Main Station Field Lab and is currently cultivating 10 different hops varieties.
Reno Food Systems established this hop yard to identify hop varieties that will thrive in Nevada’s high desert ecology and yield highly desirable qualities for Nevada brewers. The results of this project provide Nevada farmers with reliable data (production, maintenance, harvesting, selling, etc.) that encourages and guides producers to grow hops successfully in Nevada.
